Pan Pacific Orchard to be Zero-waste Hotel
The Pan Pacific Orchard Hotel closed its doors for a multi-year renovation on 1 April 2018, and subsequently demolished to make way for the new landmark development.
It is expected to re-open in 2021 as the Group's first zero-waste property, featuring rainwater harvesting and recyclable water systems as well as a compactor to turn food waste into compost.
The hotel will be transformed, by WOHA, into a garden-in-the-city, offering a resort-style experience in the middle of town just off Orchard Road.
Four-storeys of sky gardens and lush greenery are expected to occupy a space three-times the total land area of the property.
The renovation programme will also see the number of hotel rooms increase to 350 rooms, all of which will be eco-friendly, together with a gym, swimming pool, bars and restaurants, and a club lounge.
